Weight gain

These past few nights have been a feeding frenzy filled with round the clock cluster feedings. When we saw the pediatrician she said that it was baby’s way of catching up on his weight lost since birth. She said typically the birth weight is fully regained in two weeks. Our little Maddox has ben taking this job very seriously and has blown away the competition by fulling gaining back his birthweight and surpassing it in only 1 week! Go Maddox!

At 2 weeks old we are told to expect a growth spurt accompanied by another feeding frenzy. The pediatrician said that normally the first feeding frenzy bumps up against the second, but since Maddox has caught up on his weight gain early we MIGHT get a short break.
Thursday, Sept 25
Turns out we did get our little break! Maddox has been a fantastic night sleeper (really a fantastic baby overall). He has been sleeping in 3-4 hour chunks the last few nights. This has really allowed me a chance to catch up on some sleep. Perhaps “catch up” is a little extreme, but it has allowed me to get enough sleep that I almost feel like a normal person. (A normal person that lives in a robe, gets peed on frequently, and still has to be taken care of by her own mother).
I LOVE my life and my family. It would be a whole different scene without Dallas, my mother, and all the love that my friends have been sending our way. I am grateful for all of it. Thank you everybody!
that little 4 week story is truly tearful. he looks just like Dallas. i wish i had parents as great as you two. all three of you are so lucky the universe brought you together!
it is wierd how 4 weeks really isnt a month. your little four weekshort story brought tears too my eyes. it is important to document llife through many angles.
