My AeroGarden Grows
April 28th, 2006As a belated birthday gift, my friend Chad gave me an AeroGarden! It is a bit hokey, and gimmicky, but i embrace that! I am a sucker for kits. Anything in a kit really – all the camping food with the packets and small containers, first aid kits, sewing kits, even the cheese and crackers that come with the little red spreading stick. OOh, and those tuna cracker kits with the mini mayo!

Anyway back to my Gourmet Herb Garden… Within a few days i had little sproutlets.
These photos are from about 2 weeks in (taken last night):
Thank You Chad! 😎
I think it’s a great idea that you’ve been taking pictures of the growth of your Garden! That is so fun, it’s like a Garden Journal! I’m thinking of buying one of these for my friend for Christmas. There are soooo many places that are selling them now. Where did your friend buy his? I am looking at buying mine through The AeroGarden Store (http://www.hydroponic-home-garden.com) but I’m not sure. Have you tried anything else in it yet? Can you plant you’re own seeds? Any help would be wonderful! This looks like a very fun product!
by Devan November 30th, 2006 at 10:54 amHe bought it from Sur la table a while back. The herbs grew really well and looked gorgeous, but they didn’t taste like much. They didn’t taste bad but they seemed like they only had the essence of herb flavor. Like the cilantro tasted like green plant with a hint of cilantro flavor. (Though i am particularly picky about how my plants taste.) So now i have the cascading petunias growing in my aeor garden. They look nice, but its important to trim them so they don’t get too lanky and too close to the bulbs. the product is fun. and gimmicky.
by vida November 30th, 2006 at 1:58 pmI am thinking these would be great in an office, which already needs some artificial light and could use some greenery to make the place livable. As far as vida’s comment about bland tasting results, I find that something that grows slowly in some dense, interesting organic matter tends to be more flavorful. I seemed to notice a big difference in the organic bananas at EarthFare from when they were small and had some obscure brand on them to after Dole took it over and they are now big as conventional bananas and less flavorful. The Aerogarden is all about speed though. I still want one, though, or maybe three.
p.s. Im Europa, ist “Aerogarten”?
